The Jean Augustine Secondary School in the Peel District School Board opened its doors in 2016. With over 1200 students enrolled, it pays homage to Jean’s legacy of social justice advocacy citing her ground-breaking work as an educator and politician in Canada which is aligned with the school’s vision of SAIL which stands for Service, Activism, Innovation and Leadership.  The school’s goal is to inspire future generations to engage in the affairs of their community and the world.

The Peel Board is the largest employer in the Peel Region operating 250 schools serving approximately 154,000 students in kindergarten to grade 12 in the municipalities of Brampton, Caledon and Mississauga.
