Economic Empowerment

Economic Empowerment

Economic empowerment is one of the keys to better outcomes in the human condition. It involves the capacity of women and men to participate, contribute and benefit from growth processes in ways that recognize the value of their contributions, respect their dignity and facilitate a fairer distribution of the benefits of growth.

Jean encourages inclusive and fair access to economic opportunity for all people, with particular emphasis on people who are most likely to be marginalized -- low-income women and young people. This includes better access to education and employment; as well as initiatives to reduce systemic poverty, while increasing productivity, competitiveness, and growth in individuals. Individuals must have access to opportunities to work their way out of poverty and uplift their communities.
